- 1/2 cup rice
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
- Pour boiling water over rice and microwave on high for 2 minutes
- Add sugar and milk and microwave on high for about 10 minutes (until nearly boiling)
- Microwave on low power for about 40 minutes (until desired thickness and rice is soft and creamy)
- Add vanilla essence
