Caramel Macadamia Slice

  • 150 grams butter softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 2 cups flour sifted
  • 395 grams can sweetened condensed milk
  • 75 grams butter
  •  1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup
  • 70 grams macadamias roughly chopped
  1. Cream butter and sugar
  2. Mix in vanilla then hold in flour
  3. Press 3/4 mixture into the bottom of a prepared slice time
  4. Place condensed milk, butter, sugar and golden syrup in a bowl
  5. Microwave on high for 1-2 minutes until butter has melted
  6. Stir then cook for 2 - 4 minutes until thick
  7. Pour caramel over base
  8. Mix macadamias through the rest of the base mixture and sprinkle over the top
  9. Bake 20 - 25 minutes in medium oven until golden
