Quick, Easy, Yummy Cookies

  • 200 grams sugar
  • 200 grams margarine or softened butter
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 150 grams self-raising flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  1. Beat together sugar and margarine
  2. Beat in golden syrup then flour and chocolate chips
  3. Put in spoonfuls on a baking paper covered tray
  4. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes

Cookies in a Mason Jar - Great for Christmas Presents

  • 1 1/2 cup flour 
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup white chocolate buttons
  • 3/4 cup dark chocolate buttons
  • 3/4 cup milk chocolate buttons
  1. Put all the ingredients in the mason jar (or other attractive glass jar) in the order listed. 
  2. Tie with attractive ribbon and print the below recipe.

Plain biscuits .. any way you like ..


  • 100 grams butter
  • 125 grams sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 170 grams flour
  • 1 tsp baking flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa (optional)
  1. Cream butter and sugar
  2. Add egg
  3. Add dry ingredients
  4. Bake 10 - 15 minutes in a medium oven
  5. Can add chocolate chips, dried apricots, nuts, sultanas and mixed spice etc

Ultimate Choc-Chip cookies

  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 ups brown sugar
  • 180 grams butter
  • 150 grams dark choc chips
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup dark choc chips
  • 1/3 cup white choc chips
  • 150 gram nuts (brazil or macadamias)
  1. Mix flour, cocoa and sugar. Make well in centre.
  2. Melt butter and first measure of chocolate.
  3. Stir into dry ingredients.
  4. Stir in choc chips and nuts.
  5. Put spoonfuls on prepared trays. 
  6. Bake 15 minutes in moderate oven.

Gingerbread People

  • 125 grams butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup golden syrup
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup self-raising flour
  • 1 T ginger
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 t lemon juice
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • food colouring
  1. Cream butter, sugar and syrup. 
  2. Add egg
  3. Add flours and spices.
  4. Roll dough and cut. 
  5. Bake 180oC for 15 minutes. 
  6. For icing beat egg white till soft peaks and add icing sugar and lemon juice. Beat till creamy.
